Repair and Bicycle Maintenance Services

At The Kickstand, we understand how important it is to regularly maintain our bicycles and make needed repairs. Since during any typical ride we may encounter dozens of dangers (i.e., potholes, cars, flat tires, other cyclists), we need to be sure that our bikes are in their best condition to combat these hazards and keep us riding smoothly and safely. At The Kickstand, we will help you fine-tune your bicycle so that it will continue to keep you safe, comfortable, and performing at your best.

The Kickstand is a full service bike shop, offering expert bicycle care including repairs, routine maintenance and custom bike fittings. Our expert mechanic DJ Casarez handles all types of repairs, from flat tire repair and bicycle brake repair to full professional assembly or overhauls, as well as bike tune ups and bicycle maintenance. We offer a la carte service rates for specific types of bicycle care, such as bicycle brake repair. Other services are offered at $45/hour.

Flat Tires and Goat Heads
We provide flat tire repair on bikes that have run over hard, thorny seeds called goat heads. Goatheads are an unpleasant surprise for visitors or new transplants to New Mexico, and they are very hard to avoid. The Kickstand offers flat tire repair services for victims of goat heads, and we offer a variety of sealants, tubes and tire liners that can stop or prevent flats.

Bike Tune Ups
Every bicycle needs a little TLC! Giving your bike a tune up helps prevent major repairs in the future and keeps your bicycle chains well lubricated, your wheels in alignment, your brakes working properly, and attends to all of the components of your bicycle that may give you problems in the future. At The Kickstand, we offer three levels of tune-up:

Basic Bike Tune Up: $45 plus parts installation

• Lubrication for chain, cables and derailleurs
• Brake, shifter and derailleur adjustments
• Spot truing for wheels
• BB, hub, headset, and bearing adjustments

Advanced Bike Tune Up: $70 plus parts installation

• All of the services of a Basic Tune, plus:
• Precision wheel truing
• A wipedown for your ride

Pro Bike Tune Up: $95 and free installation of parts purchased at The Kickstand

• All Basic and Advanced Tune services, plus:
• Solvent cleaning for the entire drivetrain
• Replacement of all brake and derailleur cables (not hydraulic lines)

Additional bicycle tune up services are available for a la carte prices or $45 an hour. Contact our expert bicycle mechanics to fine-tune your ride for ultimate comfort, safety, and optimum performance.

Certified Fittings
The Kickstand offers certified, custom fitting services that adjust your bike’s parts to maximize its compatibility with your body. The right fit really can make a difference, reducing soreness, preventing injuries and increasing performance, which means more time for fun on the road!
